The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has requested for donations from overseas residents to help overcome the economic crisis.
The depleted foreign reserves have caused social, economic and financial hardships and troubled the everyday lives with shortages in medicine, fuel and food.
The Bank issuing a statement has said that all foreign currency donations offered under its pledge will only be used to import essential items such as food, fuel and medicine.
The CBSL has made arrangements to ensure the transparency of this donation process.
